I support the philosophy that children learn best through play and hands-on experience in a caring and nurturing environment.  I encourage the development of creative expression, language use, awareness of others, fine and gross motor skills, independence and math and reading readiness.  I have a child-centered, developmental philosophy that embraces the current research and practices in Early Childhood E0ducation.  At McMinnville Playschool, this means dealing sincerely with individual children, never hesitating to be kind and gentle, and recognizing that each child is an individual with his/her own set of needs.  I believe in being astute observers of children.  The child is the only one who can tell us what we need to know about that child.  We know they are the only ones who can show us “their point of view.”
